Within Reach is part of 2 other works painted at the same time. The work is about my needing to limit my palette to a monochromatic one so that I could focus on capturing my inner thoughts about the work. One I wanted to abstract a flower; two I wanted to stretch myself emotionally by not controlling the output but rather focusing on feeling and maintaining that. I wanted the work to show a progression of not only my development as an artist but as a flower might open out and be close enough to examine and abstract. I hope you feel I have progressed enough in these works to show I am within reach of abstracting flowers and expressing my love for them.
